the antena ring takes after the antennariidae. the machli antennariidae anchors itself among coral and sponge, walking the seabed on fins built for patience rather than speed. it can stay still for hours, holding its ground while the current does whatever it wants around it. nothing about it is rushed, and nothing about it needs to be. worn the way it waits, steady, quiet, certain it doesn't need to move first.
